Trademark Taste + Grind Brunch
JANUARY 18, 2019 BY SHRUTI
Herald Square is not a trendy neighborhood by any means but every now and then there’s a reason to be in the epicenter of chaos. It’s a convenient spot for those times you’re meeting up with friends from Long Island or Jersey due to its proximity to the PATH and Penn Station.
Trademark Taste + Grind is little a gem that’s attached to Hotel Le Soleil. Entry into the restaurant requires walking through the coffee shop, which promptly greets you with a neon sign inspiring New Yorkers to “stay grinding.” To say the coffee is good would be an understatement. Coffee to a New Yorker is survival for our daily grind, as is alcohol for our sanity.
Trademark Taste + Grind serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rooftop Bars Open All Year Long: Mondrian Terrace
With a space that overlooks Park Avenue South and 30th Street, Mondrian Terrace has a prime location for all your rooftop needs. We suggest trying one of their specialty cocktails like the Mondrain Manhattan (High West double rye, Carpano Antica, Peychaud’s Bitters) along with an order of the lamb meatballs with spicy tomato, feta cheese, pine nuts, and naan. 444 Park Ave. S., igchospitality.com

Rooftop Bars Open All Year Long: Refinery
Refinery Rooftop is one of the most accommodating rooftops the city has to offer. It’s enclosed with a retractable glass roof which does not take away from the view in any way. There are heat lamps during the colder months. Refinery also features a special allergy menu where every possible allergy is marked so those with sensitivities can enjoy a night out with zero worries. 63 W. 38th St., 646-664-0372, refineryrooftop.com

Parker and Quinn x Refinery Rooftop
After dinner, head right upstairs to the Refinery Rooftop, an industrial-style indoor/outdoor lounge with a mind-blowing view of the Empire State Building. Layered in brick walls, weathered tile floors, wood fixtures, and no ceiling, as well as an attached deck bordered in a gorgeous garden, the awe-factor has been turned up to 11. So sip back on one of their amazing craft cocktails—we particularly love the London Calling (with Remy Martin V.S.O.P, Cointreau, black tea, and fresh lemon juice) and the Smoke Show (with Montelobos Mezcal, Aperol, Bitter Truth Elderflower, lemon, grapefruit, and orange bitters)—and enjoy the most breathtaking opportunity for stargazing that NYC has to offer.
